The fever that descended upon us when the world cup started has lifted. The difference between June 11 and June 18 was palpable. A dark cloud had descended upon South Africa. But when Bafana beat France we were proud of the boys but alas we were out of the world cup.
This cup has been riddled with controversy, from suspect referees to an outcry for the use of technology. The major teams are out of the game at such an early stage and the Netherlands has come out as a strong team out of nowhere.
But what’s been my general feeling about this World Cup – well I think that it was just a nice practise run or warm up to th 2014 Soccer World Cup. So guys don’t sweat it it’s just a practise run – nothing more… We’ll see what happens in 2014, if these boys will actually play and if the referees will pluck out their blind eye.

25 June 2009 is a major News Day – Major Legend and Musical Genius who roused major controversy in his later years – Michael Jackson unexpectedly passed away last night from cardiac arrest. Farrah Fawcett also lost her battle with cancer on the same day.
With Confederations Cup in South Africa Bafana Bafana team – ranked 77th in the world held their own against 5 time world champions Brazil, until the 87th minute, where they lost 1 – 0 to Brazil with a penalty kick. Now they’ll be battling with Spain for 3rd place. Nobody thought they’d get this far! Homeground advantage?
Then of course there’s the rate cut that didn’t happen and the electricity hike that did happen – I think the fat cats out there are just asking for a revolution. The recession is biting hard!

According to iafrica.com – Milan fashion week opened with “around” 10 fewer shows in the lineup.
While some did “admit” they were being cautious because of economic reasons others cited “strategic” reasons for not being in the lineup. But hey – u need to only look at at those poor starved models to see what the real reason is… ; ) Jokes -MORE

I must say – as much negativity as there has been in the past week – I have had a very blessed week that I must be truly grateful for. Things that I have prayed and hoped for seem to be coming true – and this always happens right when you think you should give up. During a cloud of a social and economic storm – so much good is happening. And I have learned many lessons through my actions and other’s actions in just this short week – lessons that I am highly grateful for.
I love Switchfoot – while I was listening to them I came across the words “Doubt your doubts and Believe your beliefs” — now I BELIEVE that’s very powerful. It makes me think of the statement, “If you knew you could never fail, what would you do differently with your life?” Now it doesn’t go exactly like that but that’s the joist of it.
You’re silly if you think failures won’t come but it’s getting the guts to face them that makes you succeed… that’s why I love that quote.
So I’m gonna go home now and dream some more… so I can realise more of my dreams in just a few short years.
Have a brilliant weekend.

This is a headline on BBC news online – you can read more on the article by following this link.
Biblical people and others, between 600BC and 400AD have long believed that the world was spherical and orbited the sun. But secular scholars had no knowledge of this, hence the misconception and old ideas that the world is flat and orbited by the sun.
The Church of Jeses Christ of Latter-Day Saints has as part of their doctrine believed that God the Father has created many world like our own – worlds without number. Where science is only coming to know this now – many of this religion have known it for over a century. Such information was found in lost scrolls that were later translated – the Books of Moses and of Abraham, found in the Pearl of Great Price – it has become additional scripture of the church.

These are absolutely amazing! The amount of excruciating pain he has put his body through is amazing… all for the sake of entertainment, and we love him! There’s other stunts he’s done though… some even better, this is just one guy’s tribute – but it’s pretty cool. Check it out.
