Xenophobia – South Africa – give me more

There is comment flying all over on this subject. I have somebody else who has commented on how the foreigners have indeed set up criminal organisations – so to speak – where drugs are the main commodity, and have indeed aggravated the drug problem and other criminal activities in SA. Others who have kept shop and employed South Africans have not been the friendliest of people. And this is a way of South Africans retaliating after a while of systematic abuse. Therefore one should not look at this situation from one position, but rather look at all aspects of the problem. They go on to say that the unfortunate bit about these events is that Innocent foreigners have fallen victim to this violence where those who are the offenders have enough cash to keep themselves safe. A lot would not stay in the affected areas etc. But of course that is typical. Other theories are those of a third force who have instigated these events – something that could not be far from the truth. Government has been asked if they had foreseen this and the answer was in the affirmative… when asked why they remained silent about it, the answer was the same as with every other pertinent question that the government is asked…. DEAFENING SILENCE. I truly hope this horrible period is short lived and that a government with clear strategies and policies will come into effect next year. We can only fast and hope for this. SA is a beautiful country with a majority of welcoming and warm people and it is those people who are to keep that spirit alive.
