War on Democracy – Crazy Stuff

November 22, 2007

images3.jpgSo anyway – I came across this documentary called War on Democracy.  Helen Hawkins from the Empire Magazine says it’s ”Gripping viewing”  and “…Pilger’s passion for the subject and dedicated research pay off superbly…” It’s been rated as a must see. It’s about the atrocities caused by the US in South America or rather the US’s backyard – and nope, not the lovely backyards in the super wealthy’s mansions that you see in those gorgeous Hollywood movies. Look I have no beef with the wealthy – a lot do work hard for what they get – my beef is with governments that have done good and then through pride and selfishness start to enforce their ways on others. It’s a problem that doesn’t face one country but many. This is great for history students and others who are in the social science field – heck, it’s great for anyone who cares about other people’s lives.  I’ve only watched part of the movie/documentary but it’s already having  me wanting to do something. It’s unfortunate that the things that the wicked (no not Rastafarian wicked) do spread so quickly and affect so many – yes, the good does too – but there’s just so much more bad out there. Look, I don’t have a pessimistic worldview – although I’m an optimist, I take it with a drop of realism as well. A good balance in life never hurt nobody. So there you go fellas.

Plans

November 22, 2007

So anyway as I’ve told u in my last post – we’re working for Summit- and I’ll be writing up some stuff on stories of interest from our diary meeting – just have to check that this is ok 1st and then we’ll launch into it, it should be pretty exciting. I’ll also add some cool interviews that we’ve had during the week, that should be cool - what I’ll do is I’ll choose my two favourites and add them to the vodpod, neat little sucker that. I’ll also have some Comedy Central stuff there as well- totally love those guys – wish we had something like that in SA. Of course my favourite is the Daily Show, with our lovely man John Stewart.  So yeah I’ve changed my theme hoping that it will make things better but it looks like we still have bugs in the system – totally uncool – at least it’s better than our last friend who just kept dropping to the bottom – man, i loved that theme! Will continue working on it though. So there fellas! Chat 2mozo!
